I am always looking for bright and motivated undergraduate and post-graduate students to join my lab. Additionally, I would be quite interested in working collaboratively on related projects with students pursuing post-doctoral research.

As a research assistant in my lab, you will be an active team member in any number of ongoing projects. I employ a wide range of methods in pursuit of my research interests, including lab-based experiments involving social interaction and competition (sometimes referred to as "high-impact studies") and survey-based studies that explore relationships among pertinent variables. You can read more about my particular research interests here

In addition to the research that I conduct at the University of Essex, I have ongoing collaborations with a number of researchers in the U.S., and as such, there are plenty of opportunities to take part in the design, the implementation, and the analysis of studies conducted in the U.K. and abroad. Additionally, assistants in my lab can receive further benefit from the effort they expend on these projects via presentations at professional conferences, as well as potentially earning authorship on eventual manuscripts submitted for publication.

Working as an assistant in a research lab (whether mine or someone else's) is a great opportunity for those students who desire to learn more about social psychological research, and/or who want to gain the experience that is required to pursue an advanced degree in psychology (or in research more broadly).

If all of this sounds interesting to you, and you are willing to devote some hours of the week to gain this experience in my lab, please contact me to arrange an interview.
